I have played professional polo all over the world, and represented New Zealand at international level. I sometimes cannot believe that this great game has taken me so many places, and allowed me to play with - and against - so many fantastic people.

“The Art of Riding for Polo” excites me. We all love the game of Polo and all it embodies, but really what does it for me, is the riding and horsemanship that goes hand in hand with this great game.
Some of my most memorable polo moments have been while schooling horses in the arena. I was lucky enough to play some of my earlier polo in Santa Barbara, California. Every morning many great horsemen would ride out, share their expertise and wonderful jokes and anecdotes.
Without exception all the great players I have known improved their polo when they increased their overall strength.
A few of my good friends from around the world have asked me for advice on how to be more positive and productive in the line out. So here are my new year thoughts on playing at the front of the line out and becoming awesome at it.
Yesterday on a beautiful Canterbury spring day we adults/parents/ families/friends/teachers and sports fans were treated to a wonderful day of Polo, youthful enthusiasm, skill and absolute daring.
Tim is my warhorse. This season he has had no days off, has stayed sound and only needs covering at night.
We have had a wonderful spring at the polo school and I have to say our best ever.
Scientific research shows that the quality of your practice is just as important as the quantity. Simply spending time doing something won’t lead you to expert levels of performance.
